Cavalier VA Beach An Experience Like None Other
Arriving Cavalier VA Beach
I have been to VA Beach lots of times as a native of Virginia. However for the first time I was actually experiencing VA Beach in this unique loving way that had me excited.
Pulling up to the Cavalier VA Beach we weren’t sure if we had made the wrong turn. This place looked like a gated community with a huge manor that sat in the middle surrounded my town homes. As the valet opened my door I squared my shoulders and lifted my head as I pulled down my shades. Oh yess honey π― your girl has arrived. I felt like Diahann Carroll regal and seen. There was an air of elegance and charm swirling all around me. Have you ever put on your sexiest out fit and looked in the mirror and just knew you were that chick. Yes that is exactly how I felt and walking up the red carpeted steps only intensified this emotion of belonging.
Stepping into the foyer I completely lost my composure. Taking off my sunglasses, pulling out my cell phone to start my selfie photo shoot. The lighting and attention to detail had me channeling my inner Marilyn Monroe. ( Oh if only there was a pothole that blew air under my skirt.) Finally my husband rein me in by reminding me we couldn’t stand there all day to take pictures.

Cavalier VA Beach History
More than its colonial elegance it was the history that pulled me to want to know more about this beautiful building. The food also but I will get to that later. For now just ride with me gypsy style.
Back to the history. So just so you know, History is a favorite of mine. If I had to list my top things I look for when planning a trip it goes like this. History what can I learn to make it interesting, what museum or art displays are nearby, and the most important where is the winery π· π€ π.
Built in 1929 the Cavalier VA Beach Hotel has been graced with the presence of 11 presidents including John F. Kennedy. Not sure if Marilyn Monroe was there but how scandalous if she was. During the Great Depression it took a hit like most businesses. In 1978 it was sold and remodeled to its amazing glory while reopening in 2018.
Now just to be clear this was not my choice my husband set this up and I was just along for the ride. (what an amazing ride) However the more research I did the more intrigued I became. However, walking into the lounge and seeing the velvet high back sitting chairs in deep greens and rich burgundy had me wishing for a ball gown so I could imitate true royalty. So what makes this place so unique? For me it was the ability to keep that feeling of luxury and comfort.
From the time you arrived, the staff made you feel like someone special. Truly they had me by opening my car door. Even though it’s not on the waterfront this hotel offers complimentary escort via golf cart to take you and your loved ones to the beach. Or just relax by the pool sipping margaritas. Want to experience VA Beach in a new way then go for a bike ride on one of there many beach cruisers.
Brunch Time @Becca’s
Outdoor seating is always my first choice. With just the right amount of umbrellas for shade. Beautiful lighting and a great view. Service was exceptional. My fav was the strawberry lavender mimosa. Donβt be afraid of the lavender; it is not overly strong. Breakfast was exceptional with something for everyone. Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. Along the outer patio there was fresh cabbage growing. If you’re like me then I know you love a restaurant that uses fresh vegetables.
