Planning Your Free Adventure
You can plan the ultimate free adventure and travel every weekend like an expert. You don’t have to be rich to travel just have an open mind. Stop waiting for adventure to come to you and go find the adventure of a lifetime.
Are you ready to hear all the juicy details on how you can travel every weekend like an expert? The other day, I talked to my friend Beverly about how I could not wait to hit the road and travel. However, inflation and the crazy cost of gas make travel more expensive. So I came up with a way for me to travel to unique destinations every weekend without taking out a home loan or a third job? From my own experience, I decided I would do a little light research on the cheapest places to visit that were within an 8-hour drive from me. Of course, now I know you’re not in the same area as me; however, these tips can help you map out your following destinations.
Now I am a little unorthodox about picking certain places, but what I found helpful was printing out a Map of the U.S., Then locating my state and drawing a circle around it. Just doing this left me feeling like a kid on a candy on Halloween. Oh the places I will go and explore. First let’s check out how you can start to plan your adventure.
Exploring doesn’t always require you to leave the state you are in. Sometimes you just have to list of 5 local spots you always wanted to go then take the trip. Make it exciting by researching the land, the people, and where it got its’ name. Those things are also good conversation starters when meeting locals.
I am genuinely an earth sign that loves the nature. The calming sound of the waves as they rush up to the shore only to take their time going back as if it too misses the feel of the sand. The Atlantic ocean has so many beaches for weekend getaways or day trips.
When my kids were little, I remember taking them to the local beach that was 3 hours away for the day. I found coupons for a pizza spot. Restaurants are always offering deals, so this is a plus. I had packed blankets to sit on the beach water and tons of snacks. Before we left, I treated them to some Ben and Jerry’s Ice-cream. This little getaway only cost me 60 dollars, including gas. Now today’s gas is more expensive, but you get my point. Find deals use the coupons, or ask what the specials are. Pizza is always a cheap affordable alternative.
Zoo’s The Ultimate Free Adventure
Lion, tigers and bears Oh My. Your Ultimate Free adventure includes a trip to the zoo. The zoo is one of the simplest places to travel but is often overlooked. Most zoo’s have special exhibits for you to visit and they are great for families and a couples getaway. It’s is always so much fun. It is also a great chance to explore some of the local places.
One of my guilty pleasures is bakeries. So don’t be afraid to be adventurous. Depending on how close you live, this can be a road trip for the day or a quick weekend adventure. Either way, it’s cheaper than plane tickets. Plan your ultimate free adventure by first deciding what zoo you would like to travel to. Then you can pack a lunch and picnic or have one cheat restaurant outing to try something new. I love choosing just one restaurant to splurge at. Here is a list below of some states that have free Zoo.
